I have a vision of this world, and have a visceral need to share it, record it and interpret it.
My Vision is one of light and Shadows, emotions, feelings, moods and atmospheres all recorded in split seconds in a simple box that records images.
I want my images to bare my feelings, for whoever views them to feel a moment of stillness, to feel my wonder, my emotion, my curiosity. feel the crisp air of a cold Venetian morning, to feel the weight of history of an ancient place. To feel the sheer sensory overload of Osaka, as Kanjo-zuku cruise through Americamura on the way to tear up the Kanjo loop.
All of my creations reflect my need for connection to both the past and the future, place, time and humanity in all its amazing forms. They are recordings of my emotions, desires and losses.
I create because i have a need to fill a void within me. They are the roots i wish i had. They are an echo of my feelings of isolation and my longing for a sense of home, they are an echo of who i could be.
This is the reason i feel whole when i have a camera in my hand..i feel like my purpose is being fulfilled as i take photos.
Photography grounds me, it is the bridge between what i see and how i feel...the freedom of an unanswered question.
